Sir.Paul McCartney wows Kyiv !

Sir Paul McCartney played a free concert on Sunday 15th June in Kyiv, intended to promote unity in Ukraine.
Crowds of this size have not been seen in Kyiv since the Orange Revolution. Some estimates say 300,000 people turned up to watch Sir.Paul in the heavy rain.

Prices increased by 10-25% in just the final two months of 2006.
New blocks of flats are springing up across the capital of this former Soviet republic.
Horbal nominated as Kyiv Mayor

The political council of the Party of Regions has decided to nominate MP Vasyl Horbal for the Kyiv mayor post.
The council decided this on April 10.
The political council has decided to recommend the party’s city chapter to nominate Horbal as Mayor for Kyiv.
The party chapter’s conference is held on April 12.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Rada called early mayoral and city council elections in Kyiv and established the voting day on May 25 2008.
